Confirmed speaker: Codland
Among the many speakers already confirmed on the Fish Waste for Profit programme is Iceland based company, Codland.
Codland uses biotechnical solutions to create valuable, new products from underutilised raw materials from the fishing industry. The company works on the principle that as catch levels have become limited in recent years, it is their ‘responsibility’ to make the most of every kilogram.
The speaker, Company Director Tomas Eiriksson, will be delivering welcome address at the conference using his wealth of knowledge about the reutilisation industry to inform attendees about the options available to them. Tomas holds a Global Executive MBA degree from EADA, Barcelona and HHL Leipzig and has over 13 years of experience as a CFO, project finance manager and in corporate advisory.
David Davidsson, Research and Development at Codland, will be presenting later on the programme in a session entitled ‘Bottom to middle – the large-scale processing of fish waste products’. David holds a B.Sc. in biology and fisheries science from the University of Iceland and a M.Sc. in food science from NMBU, Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås. His presentation will highlight the specifics of the Codland business and give an in-depth study into their products and their commercial uses.
The conference will take place on 14 September 2017 in Smarinn, Kopavogur, Iceland, and is supported by the Iceland Ocean Cluster.
